So I am now very excited about this update. Originally Rlight posted in the forums that due to the summer vacation and only being back a month that this was going to be a small update. I questioned this because they hadn't had a big update in a while (March) and they had quite a bit of time prior to the month long break to work on allot of stuff. The sneak peaks have now started, and it looks huge! So far we know there will be at least TWO new prototype weapons one of which is the Hot Pot, which is essentially a flamethrower on a massive amount of steroids that has almost the same range as a machine gun and "hides" when there are no enemies nearby. This is an absolute game changing mechanic in Boom Beach. It will completely change the way that defenses are set out and new strategies are going to have to be formulated for bases using this prototype. We also know of a second prototype that looks to have a grappling hook, I'm sure a sneak peak will come out for it shortly as well. It looks like it could be interesting just from the graphics, and if it has an all new game mechanic like the Hot Pot it should also be a pretty big game changer. So why is the Hot Pot such a game changer? In the next update we are getting HQ 23 and LC 23's, which will mean the LC's will be able to carry an extra warrior, the Hot Pot is going to be kryptonite for warriors so we already have some great forward thinking balancing by SC. The other thing we can see is that resource storage is getting upgraded for the first time in a very long time. This is a big deal! Obviously we know then that certain things will cost more than what anything else costs by a large margin. While the initial effects of added resource storage won't be apparent, in a few months after the update the game economy will change in a big way. The much larger game economy will require allot more offensive play and I would expect that many turtles will have to pop out of their shells. We also know that there is going to be a big change in matchmaking below 600 VP, XP and HQ lvls are going to be added into the mix. This is really going to shake things up for lower level players and turtles. I also recently heard a rumor that there may be a new type of Green statue coming. Due to the fact that greens aren't used at all in high level game play, they are looking to change this. Maybe a regeneration statue is coming? I will be saving green crystals for a while and see what happens; could be another game changer. Things I also would like to see: Gearheart giving intel, new mega event, new daily event in the cycle of evil, a new troop, and a new gunboat ability. I think the last one is a very high probability, SC has hinted recently that there may be a new gunboat ability coming, most likely another high damage offensive ability. I think that is likely given that there will be at least 2 new types of defenses. I'll add to this a bit more as more sneak peaks are available.
Edit: Forgot to mention Critters are getting fixed on this update, and Cryoneer AI is getting fixed as well. Those alone are going to be really nice! Also to note TF Vs TF could still be on the table, keep your fingers crossed.
