I am creating this guide so that officers understand how to do the operation notes when myself of other leaders are unavailable to do so, and also so that members understand the importance of reading and following the notes.
Part I The Basics of Writing Notes
So the basics: Pick a side, Left, Right, Frontal, Rear. You can also do combinations Frontal/Right, Left/Rear, etc. Picking the side is based upon (in this order):
1.) The path of least resistance. 2.) Number of primary defenses. 3.) Range of primary defenses.
Primary Defenses: 1.) Rocket Launchers (rl) 2.) Shock Launchers (sl) 3.) Shock Blasters (sb) 4.) Lazors (lz) 5.) Doom Canons (dc)
Always Range any of these listed defenses and see if they would be in range of Zookas on the opposite side of the core.
Try and pick the side to avoid as many of these defenses as possible. Sometimes if there are a number of these defenses very close to the core on one side, this is the side you will have to choose. You don't want to get caught behind the core with a bunch of Rockets and Shock launchers smoking your troops.
Always keep in mind that GBE, Warrior Rush, and Smokey Zooka can be used to very quickly take out Primary defenses. Recognize the targets that NEED to be taken out and list these targets in order of importance in the notes.
Optional: suggest a troop combination for opening. Often times I'll look at a base and think: I could rip that apart with Chucker's or Scorchers, etc. Offer the suggestion!
See a solo? Some bases are set up just prefect, that one high level attacker could solo. In these instances notes may not be needed for the base. Throw it in the notes, "solo for 50+(smooka)." or whatever level you feel can solo it. Having a high level solo a base takes pressure off the rest of the operation.
Part II Attacking ops
So first off, don't attack an Op base until you have read the notes. It takes a few minutes to get the notes up, don't be in a rush, have some patience.
If you have an idea you think might work better than what is in the notes feel free to suggest it in the chat. Maybe whoever wrote the notes didn't notice a shock launcher or another primary defense in a bad position (even I make mistakes after a whiskey or two).
Don't decide to just go off on your own. If everyone before you attacked left, keep attacking left. If you go right it's a complete waste of an attack and it could lead to us failing the op. Every attack needs to lead from one to another where one persons attack ends the next persons attack should begin.
Don't have a Power Cell Party! There is absolutely no need to go farming power cells with your troops. If you have critters toss them at the undefended cells for some extra GBE in the attack. If you are a lower level and don't have critters, leave the cells for the higher level people who have upgraded armory's and can do 2-3X as much damage with that free GBE.
Pick the right troop. In the thread "Info on troops, selection, combinations" I explain what every troops strengths and weaknesses are. Using tanks to take out Boom Cannons is just about as smart as using Riflemen to take out Flamethrowers or Warriors to take out Machine Guns. Pick the right troop for the job! I understand you don't always have time to switch troops if you have a busy day but is it worth wasting an attack? If you don't have time to switch troops and attack, save your attack for later; ops last 24 hours. One good attack with the right troops is better than 10 lousy attacks with the wrong troops.
As always if you have any suggestions, questions, or thoughts on any of this feel free to PM me here or in game.

while the above instructions are a good basic guide; as we have progressed forward many bases require much more thought and planned execution. The maps we are currently doing now have 6 (and soon to be 7) bases. There is always a very specific pattern to these bases. 2 of the bases will have Ice boosts of one operation level of difficulty lower than the current operation, 2 bases will have Ice boosts that match the level of difficulty, and 2 bases will actually have boosts of the next level of operation. Hence you will notice for example that 2 bases will have 300% boost, 2 will have 400% boost, and 2 will have 500% boost. This is something to be mindful of. 2 bases will almost always be "solo" bases with the right troops (typically AZ) and notes should always reflect that. Often times on these bases I may give specific instruction or I may just say "Just win". These bases usually don't require any defenses to be taken out before the core can be attacked. 2 of the bases usually will require that specific defenses, usually RL's, SL's or SG's need to be taken out first before we can make a core hit. These bases will require specific instruction as to what defenses need to be removed first. Bases such as these should be able to be taken out in 4-5 attacks. Then there are the last 2 bases, these bases usually require many defenses to be taken out first before a core hit and will usually require that a large path be cut to the core. These bases may require 4-8 attacks to take down.
When making notes try and be aware of what type of base this is, and make suitable notes. IF you are having difficulties deciding how to proceed with the base, Youtube can certainly be your best friend. Search Youtube for Boom Beach and the name of the base. There are countless videos showing the best strategies of how to take down each and every operations base in the game.
